Suvell's single-phase pad-mounted transformer, also known as the residential transformer, is engineered to enhance performance with respect to kVA capacity, smaller size, reduced weight, safety, and environmental friendliness. It is not meant to be installed directly inside or outside a distribution room, but can be situated in streets and green spaces, ensuring safety for both people and power supply facilities, while also beautifying the surroundings. This transformer finds extensive application in residential zones, shopping centers, stations, airports, industrial plants, commercial enterprises, hospitals, schools, and various other locations. It is a low-profile, compartmentalized transformer designed for outdoor installation on pads without the need for extra protective enclosures, and it conforms to the following standards: ANSI/IEEE C57.12.00, C57.12.20, C57.12.38, C57.12.90, CSA, and others.

A single-phase transformer accepts single-phase alternating current as input and delivers single-phase alternating current as output. However, it is only capable of supplying single-phase power to loads that require such power. By connecting three single-phase transformers, it is possible to generate three-phase power, similar to what a three-phase transformer can provide.
