What is an underground oil immersed loadbreak switch?
The 3P Oil Immersed Underground Loadbreak Switch is a three-phase, oil-immersed load break switch specifically designed for underground distribution networks – including pad-mounted transformers, underground vaults, submersible RMUs, and direct burial applications. It is rated for 15kV / 25kV / 35kV class systems (ANSI/IEEE standards) and provides reliable load switching and fault making capability underwater.
Unlike standard loadbreak switches that require dry environments, this IP68 submersible switch operates fully submerged in oil (within transformer or switchgear tank) and can withstand continuous underwater operation in underground vaults, flood-prone areas, and direct burial installations.
