The C-GIS Direct-Acting Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) / Isolation Switch Integrated Unit is a compact, sealed module that combines a vacuum circuit breaker and a disconnector (isolation switch) into a single, mechanically interlocked assembly – driven by a direct-acting mechanism. It is the core switching and isolation component of C-GIS (Cubicle-type Gas Insulated Switchgear) for 12kV – 40.5kV medium voltage distribution networks.
Unlike traditional designs where the breaker and disconnector are separate, this integrated unit uses a common direct-acting operating mechanism to sequence the breaker opening/closing and disconnector isolation in a predefined interlocked order. This eliminates additional space requirements, reduces mechanical complexity, and improves operational safety.
