We have 25 types LBOR switch, about LBOR switch V type,
How much do you know?
As I introduced before, our company produces a total of 25 types of load switches, not including the exclusive customization for different projects of different customers. So, apart from the common two-station and four-station V-type load switches, what are the differences between them?
Let me explain it to you.

A V-type load switch does not refer to the shape of the switch being V-shaped, but rather to the movement trajectory of its contacts and the structural layout being in a "V" shape. This is a pressurized gas load switch that uses the compressed gas generated during the opening and closing of the contacts to extinguish the arc.
This 4-position switch on loop feed transformers provides four operating modes:
Power from Side A (Transformer ON)
Power from Side B (Transformer ON)
Power from Both Sides (Transformer ON - for synchronized switching)
Transformer OFF (Isolated for maintenance, while the power loop stays connected)

| Switch Position | Side A | Side B | Transformer | Explanation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Position 1 | ON | OFF | ON | Normal operation from Side A. Side B is backup. |
| Position 2 | OFF | ON | ON | Normal operation from Side B. Side A is backup. |
| Position 3 | ON | ON | ON | Both sides powered (parallel operation). Requires synchronization. |
| Position 4 | ON | ON | OFF | Transformer is de-energized and isolated for safe maintenance. The power loop remains closed. |
How does a loop feeder transformer work in conjunction with a V-type load switch?
In the ring main unit, their coordination is a perfect match and represents a very standard configuration scheme.

The following figure clearly shows this workflow:
Why is this combination so important?
V-type load switch: As the main switch of the ring main unit,
it is responsible for the main on-off, isolation and grounding operations of the line. It features a simple structure, reliability and low cost, making it highly suitable for distribution network ring systems with small capacity and frequent operation requirements.
Loop feeder transformer: As the "pacemaker" of the ring main unit, it provides energy for the electric mechanism operating the V-type load switch and the control brain of the entire cabinet. It directly draws power from the main circuit, ensuring the highest reliability of the power supply.
